KIG Mining Plc has, after the decision to move operations fromWest Africa to Southern Africa, acquired the following:
- Highly lucrative projects in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. The specific projects were chosen as the first step in the move due to one being a high yielding running concern, the second at the point of start of mining after bulk sampling has already been done and three additional areas because of their proximity to the first existing plant (i.e.. Same grades and usage of one metallurgic plant).
- In addition to these alluvial projects, KIG Mining Plc is in advanced negotiations on a site with five tested Kimberlitic pipes in the vicinity of Kimberley and has entered into negotiations on additional tested kimberlitic pipes in Botswana.
Expediting production
The order of operations has been decided on as follows:
- The Silverstreams Alluvial Deposit: This site was operational and yielded large high quality diamonds - restart within three weeks
- De Kalk Alluvial deposit: Extensive drilling and bulk sampling has been completed, a final recovery plant is already on site. And production can start within two months. The grade tested higher in volume compared to Silvertsreams
- Sanddrift Alluvial deposit: This site lies on the same dyke system as Silverstreams and yield the same grade as Silverstreams Additionally it is in close proximity of the existing processing plant. Drilling can commence immediately
- Uitdraai Alluvial deposit: Neighbouring the Silverstreams deposit to the west, bearing gravel can be transported via floating bridges to the Silverstreams plant that will save time and new plant build up
- Kimberlitic deposit: An existing recovery plant is in place on this site and negotiations have been completed, earth moving equipment will be put in place and production can start in approximately three months time.
According to geological surveys done by independent geologists ( NI 43-101 reports),all the above projects have aminimal life time of 15 years at full production KIG Mining Plc has a broad suite of landholdings in proven diamond producing regions of South Africa. These include a pipeline of advanced alluvial mining projects with recently commissioned producing plants plus advanced stage exploration on prolific alluvial terraces, as well as a portfolio of kimberlitic projects that includes well-defined bodies moving into production programs and numerous drill targets across extensive prospective areas.
